Thrifted Makeup Organizer

Thrifted Makeup Organizer | westvalleymomsblog.com

Have you ever seen something in a thrift store that you knew you could transform into something else? I happened to find this desk organizer in a thrift store recently however, I knew I wanted to transform it into something a little more awesome. I turned this desk organizer into a stylish Thrifted Makeup Organizer

It’s perfect for:

  • Makeup brushes
  • Eyeliners
  • Mascaras
  • Concealers
  • Lipsticks
  • Brushes & combs
  • Q tips
  • Makeup brushes

Thrifted Desk Organizer Turned Makeup Organizer

I gave this a quick makeover with some spray paint. If you haven’t used spray paint before, it’s nothing to be afraid of. Spray painting is actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it and you’ll find it’s the quickest way to make something over. For this project I used a Rustoleum 2X spray paint to coat the organizer. I didn’t need to prime it because this paint is durable enough to not need one. The project only took about an hour and that includes drying time.

Tips for spray painting:

  • Hold the can approximately 8 – 10 inches away from the project.
  • Move back and forth across the project in a steady matter.
  • Test the paint on the project or similar project before coating.
  • You may need a primer for a porous surface or if your paint is only meant for one coat.
  • Allow your paint to dry in between coats.
