The countdown to Christmas is on, and although it may not be all that chilly in the West Valley, you can still see snow! That is, if you go to Snow Fall at the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale! From now through Christmas Eve, you can experience real fluffy white snow, falling down from above, for a full 8 minutes, at 7pm and again at 8pm.
On the evening of Black Friday, we headed over to Westgate with my family, and we started with a dinner at Saddle Ranch Chop House. The food was delicious and the mechanical bull riders were very entertaining!
We had to get two desserts- Saddle Ranch’s signature 3-foot-tall cotton candy…
…and their “make-your-own s’mores” platter!
After our s’mores, we hightailed it over to the Fountain Park area to catch the snow (literally). Our kids were enthralled! What is this white stuff?!
You can also catch a horse-drawn carriage ride while you’re there, and they even had a little ice rink set up, with free skate rentals! My daughter had a blast on the ice!
Growing up in Maine, it doesn’t seem like Christmas without snow, but my Arizona kids don’t know any other way.
Santa will be making some visits to Glendale, so be sure to bring the little ones down to Westgate to meet him and tell him all their Christmas wishes! You can see Santa’s full schedule here.
We love living so close to Westgate. The outlets, the restaurants, the stadium, the live music…you can lose an entire day there! Did I mention the outlets? And they do the holidays right, with lots of activities and events for all ages. Their website lists all of their holiday events with dates and times.
So if you’re looking for an evening of winter wonder (whether the temperature hits freezing or not), head over to Westgate’s Snow Fall! Don’t forget to checkout the 2014 West Valley Moms Blog Holiday Event Guide for more festive family fun!
