As moms, we get pretty excited when we find a simple, quiet activity to keep little hands busy. These colorful lacing eggs are just that sort of craft, plus they’re so easy to make.
Lacing toys are great for improving fine motor skills and helping kids practice patterns. Show your little one that they need to sew up, down, up, down and so forth (a simple, AB pattern). You can also easily take this activity on the road — perfect for a trip to Grandma’s or for church on Easter Sunday.
TO MAKE: Download our free printable Sew an Egg template and print on cardstock. We recommend laminating the egg to make it more durable. Using a regular office-size hole punch, create holes around the perimeter of the egg. For the lace, cut about a yard of string or yarn and tape the end.
