Dressing for the Holidays

It’s the season for parties so today I am going to share two different styles ideas. Some parties may require fancy or nice casual. Here are two styles that I pulled from my wardrobe to show you.

I know when you think of fancy, you automatically think little black dress. I really wanted to do something different. I wore a red shirt dress that I got from Newport News a few years ago. Red, black and gold are always acceptable to wear during the holiday season. If you decide to wear a dress for a holiday party, the length is important. Make sure the dress comes to your knees or above.  It will give it such a cute, flirty look.

I wore a long wooden necklace with my dress. Statement necklaces are great for holiday parties. It will catch everyone’s attention. I didn’t have one that would compliment this dress, but would have worn one if I did. I wore a pair of neutral booties with the dress. This style of shoes are my favorite this time of year. They look great with jeans and dresses.

Nice casual is what I will be wearing to most of my holiday parties this season. I need a nice casual outfit that I can still chase my kids around with and look cute while doing it! This outfit has texture and prints. If you decided on wearing casual add some texture with a bold print or scarf. There are a lot of stylish fall hats out that can be worn with a nice casual outfit.

I wore corduroy mustard yellow pants. Corduroy screams fall to me. I thought about wearing this outfit with some tall boots, but last minute opted for some gold flats. I really wanted to keep the outfit simple. I also did the same with my necklace. Since I already had polka dots, I wore a delicate bow necklace. I added a gold sparkly belt to jazz up the outfit.

Mustard yellow is very versatile. I could have worn lots of different colors with these pants. I really wanted a deep color and chose navy blue. You could wear plum, grey and black with these pants and still look fashionable.

With the holidays approaching and parties in full swing, it is always nice to have a little outfit inspiration. I hope my post has given you some ideas as to how you can put your best foot forward for family and friends this year and dress to impress.
