DIY Gold Sequin Heart Shirt

I love celebrating holidays in a fun way! I love any excuse for festive attire as well. With Valentine’s Day on the horizon I wanted to come up with a cute themed shirt that would be perfect for the occasion, but also something I could wear long after. Using just a few simple supplies, I got to work creating this fun gold sequin heart tee, perfect for Valentine’s Day. I love me some gold sparkles! Here’s what you’ll need:

T-shirt (mine was from Target on clearance)

Gold Sequin Trim (JoAnn’s)

Aleene’s Fabric Fusion (JoAnn’s)

First I washed my shirt per the instructions on the Fabric Fusion. I wanted to make sure I was doing what the bottled suggested as I didn’t want my heart to fall off, that would be terrible!

I took all my gold sequin trim off the roll and laid it out onto the shirt making a heart shape. I didn’t want my heart to be “perfect” and I kinda just played with it till I got the heart shape I liked. Next, place a piece of card stock inside your shirt so that you don’t glue your shirt closed.

You could use pins to secure it in place, but I didn’t. It kept the shape well so I just started gluing all the trim down. Pressing firmly as I went. I placed heavy books on top and let it dry for two hours. Then I went back and checked for any spots I missed and glued those down and let it dry again.

The end result?

It turned out so cute and festive! Now go grab some supplies and make your own gold sequin heart tee, perfect for all those Valentine’s play dates!
