15 of the Best West Valley Date Nights

Date nights are EVERYTHING once you’re a mama.

Married five years, and together for ten, my husband and I have always made date nights a priority. Now that we’ve welcomed our first little one, it’s become a little tricky to get away and make time to connect which is why planning and organization is key.

Date nights help recharge you as a woman, as a couple and reconnects you to your partner.

We keep a handy list of fun ideas nearby so that we don’t resort to the same activities over and over when we have time to slip away and I’ve compiled a list below of our favorite activities in the West Valley.

  1. Spring (and a fly ball) Is In The Air
Take your hubs to a Spring Training game for some fun in the sun, a cold brew and a hot dog for a relaxed and fun game day.
  2. Football, Hockey and Concerts OH MY!
Sports lovers can reconnect over cheering for their favorite team at a Cardinals or Coyotes game at local West Valley sports venues University of Phoenix Stadium or the Gila River Arena. Not a sports fan? You can visit one of these venues for exciting concerts and events throughout the year as well.
  3. Go Out, Drive In
Snuggle sans kiddos with your sweety at Glendale 9’s Drive-In Movies. Pack a car picnic of homemade burgers and shakes to kick up the nostalgia.
  4. Sweatin’ Til’ We’re Oldies
Nothing says “I love you” more than wanting to stay healthy together. Take in a hike at the White Tank Mountains or take a local kickboxing or yoga.
  5. Appreciate The West Valley’s Bygone Era
There is something about antiquing in Old Town that makes you appreciate the city’s history and those who have lived here before you. Old Town also offers many fun events throughout the year, such as Glendale Glitters, the Chocolate Affair and a Jazz Concert.
  6. Stop and Smell the Roses
Pressed for time? Take a stroll through Saguaro Ranch Park’s rose garden and enjoy a light picnic of appetizers. Throughout the year, the park also features festivals and events as well as Historic home tours.
  7. Sail Away
Lake Pleasant offers Nautical Adventures where you can kick back, relax and take in a romantic boat ride or dinner cruise.
  8. Take To The Stage
Enjoy a show at Peoria’s Arizona Broadway Theater. Quality productions without having to fly to Manhattan.
  9. Wasted Away Again In Margaritaville
Let Jimmy Buffet be your cruise director and sail away with your sweety on a pitcher of Margarita’s. Located at Westgate, you can pair your pitcher with a delicious burger and do some shopping nearby.
  10. Got A Sweet Tooth?
For a quick trip away from the littles, Papa Ed’s Ice Cream offers homemade ice cream and a sweet 1950’s vibe, or tour the locally owned Cerreta’s Candy Factory to gift your sweety with some handmade chocolate.
  11. Get Board Together
For the crafty couple, Board and Brush offers a fun experience to handmake wooden signs for your home.
  12. Ice Ice Baby
On Saturdays, call the sitter and take advantage of AZ Ice’s free skating lessons. It’s always romantic to let your sweety catch you when you fall.
  13. Punch Dunk Love
Act like kids yourselves, reach new heights and out dunk each other at the local Sky Zone.
  14. The Gold Standard
Dinner and a movie is always a classic. Connect over good conversation while noshing on some of the valleys best Italian fare. Featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, La Piazza Al Forno located in Downtown Glendale serves up authentic deliciousness. Then take in a movie at a local AMC or Harkins.
  15. Get Salty
Have a night away to get (a little) wild? Stop for drinks at Salty Senorita where you can enjoy the outdoors, kick back by a bonfire, play a little volleyball and sip on your adult beverage of choice.

BONUS DATE: Have time to get away together overnight or for the weekend? The Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park offers decadence and romance in their spacious, beautiful rooms, as well as golf, a spa and delicious on-site dining options.
