I LOVE memory keeping whether it’s flipping through photos in my photo stream, old albums from my childhood or current scrapbook albums, my kids love it too!
There are so many ways to collect all those memories you’re making throughout the year that I thought it would be fun to pull a little list together so you could mix, match and decide what works best for your time, skills and desires. A lot of my memory keeping comes from a desire to craft and create so it’s a mixture of memory keeping and crafting for fun (and stress relief!)
1. Traditional Scrapbooking. Scrapbooking isn’t what it used to be! There are so many great new companies with trendy designs and products that you’ll never get bored. I design for a kit club called Studio Calico that you can sign up to receive a kit of scrapbooking supplies each month. If you haven’t visited the scrapbook sections in Michael’s, Joanns or even Target lately you’re missing out! There a ton of great supplies to play around with (even in the Target $1 section!)
3. Video! I love the 1 Second Everyday app. You can capture just 1 second each day of video and they’ll put together a video of clips of your week, month, year or whatever you capture! SO cool.
4. Digital Photobooks – if you love the idea of scrapbooking but don’t want to get into the “crafty” part there are SO. MANY. digital photo book companies. There’s Costco, Shutterfly, TinyPrints, Blurb, Artifact Uprising and Pinhole Press just to name a few. There are also companies who will make books out of your Instagram feed!
5. Don’t stop at photos – even jotting down a fun memory each day and then stashing your notebooks/calendars away for your kids or kids’ kids is a great way to keep those daily/weekly memories alive!
