Favorite Parks Around the Valley

With the beautiful spring weather here in Arizona and summer break just around the corner, we are busy finding things to do outside. Taking advantage of the parks in the valley is something we love and go to often. I asked some of my mommy friends for some help and rounded up a list of our Favorite Parks Around the Valley.

favorite parks1

This park has batting cages, soccer and baseball fields, a skate park, sand volleyball courts, a playground, splash pad, and lots of placed to BBQ. There’s also access to the canal trail for biking, walking, and even horseback riding.

This park has tennis and racket ball facilities, a fishing lake, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, and playgrounds.

As one of the newer parks in the west valley, this park is very clean and has a fishing pond, covered playgrounds, splash pad, and plenty of picnic space!

Avondale Friendship Park

12325 W McDowell Rd, Avondale, AZ 85323

I have driven past this park so many times and have told myself that we need to check it out! This park has walking trails, playgrounds, a dog park, tennis courts, basketball courts, a softball field, and a Japanese Garden. Plus, they often have Farmers Markets on the weekends!

Anthem Community Park / Daisy Mountain Railroad

This beautiful park has so much to offer. There is a fishing lake, softball/baseball/soccer fields, sand volleyball court, roller hockey rink and pickleball court, skate park, adventure playground and splash pad,  an outdoor amphitheater for concerts, and 10 miles of hiking and biking trails. Plus, this park is home to the Daisy Mountain Railroad- a 24 inch gauge railroad that is a leisurely 10 minute ride around the park. During the holiday months the train transforms into the Candy Cane Express!

Glendale Heroes Regional Park

8100 W Bethany Home Rd, Glendale, AZ 85303

This park has playgrounds, a water play area, skate and BMX facilities, basketball courts, and picnicking areas. I have been to this park several times and I love how big the splash pad is and it’s never been too crowded either.

7301 E Indian Bend Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85250

This park is worth the not-so-super-long drive! With playgrounds, picnicking areas, a 15 inch gauge train that gives rides around the park, an antique carousel, shops, and a train museum, you just can’t go wrong. Fun fact- I had my 5th birthday party at this park!

This 222 acre park has lots of picnicking areas, nature trail, urban fishing, softball fields, tennis and basketball courts, 2 golf courses, and a lagoon that offers paddle boat rides.
