I am really loving Arizona’s spring weather, aren’t you? We are trying to spend as much time outside as possible doing things like riding bikes, playing with chalk, going to the park, playing soccer, hanging out at the splash pad, and even crafting outside! The beautiful weather inspired this fun, kid-friendly craft. Today I’m going to show you how to make this Spring Flowers Crown for all the little girls out there.
It’s actually really easy to make these crowns, and older girls can make them on their own! Here’s what you’ll need to make one:
- fake flowers/leaves (Dollar Tree)
- fake butterflies (Dollar Tree)
- elastic headband (Dollar Tree)
- strip of felt (approx 1 inch x 6 inches)
- glitter paint + paint brush
- glue gun + glue sticks (mime is battery operated so I can craft outside!)
First, heat up your glue gun and lay out your strip of felt. Start arranging the flowers and leaves where you want them and glue them on. Don’t be afraid to layer the flowers and leaves…it makes it look more real.
Add the pearls/gems and butterflies with hot glue…
And use your paint brush to paint glitter on the butterflies and the centers of the flowers. I even added glitter to the leaves.
After the glitter and glue dries, flip it over so that the felt is facing up.
Hot glue the elastic headband to the felt and allow time to dry well.
Then, place it on your daughter’s head and tell her that magical garden fairies worked hard to make this special Spring Flowers Crown for such a special little girl…that she is meant to wear it on magical adventures.
These are inexpensive and so versatile. You can pick different colored flowers, butterflies, gems, and elastic headband to fit your personal preferences. And it only takes about 20-30 minutes to make one! These would be great for a craft day, play date, birthday parties, or photo props for a fun shoot!
What kinds of things are you doing outside this spring?
